Translations

Pickthall — Mohammed Marmaduke William Pickthall

And verily those before them denied, then (see) the manner of My wrath (with them)!

Yusuf Ali — Abdullah Yusuf Ali

But indeed men before them rejected (My warning): then how (terrible) was My rejection (of them)?

Context · verses 15–18

The earth made easy — and the warning. Allah made the earth subservient so people can travel and seek provision, which does not contradict reliance on Him; yet He could cause it to swallow them, as earlier nations who denied were punished. Read the explanation.

Tafsīr Ibn Kathīr (Arabic)
